Mental Health Counseling

Psychotherapy is available for individuals, children, adults and families who are experiencing serious life stressors and/or on-going mental health/psychiatric disorders. Mental health counseling includes the DSM IV Disorders, Anger Management, Divorce recovery, substance abuse treatment, Christian based pre & marital counseling, family counseling and parenting education. 



Coaching

A service for educators providing direct services to teachers, staff and parents in helping them work with young children who have social/emotional, behavioral and interpersonal problems in the classroom and home settings. Coaching is done in the classroom with the coach observing classroom environment and interactions, recording findings, giving recommendations, feedback, and modeling effective strategies that decrease and eliminate behavior challenges with targeted children.



Consultant

Consultant work is available for community partners and agencies. Designed to provide service, expert advice, recommendations and support from the mental health perspective. Excellent resource for case management meetings, staff meeting/trainings and family conferences.



Family Mediation

Shirley is a certified third party who facilitates intervention to help disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable and voluntary agreement regarding family matters.



Group Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy groups include anger management, parenting, and substance abuse. Other groups are added as the need arises.



Home Visits

In home therapeutic counseling is available for senior and disabled persons with limited mobility. Also, home study for adoption and foster care is available.



Professional Speaking

Shirley is available throughout the year to be a guest speaker at events. Scheduling must take place in advance in order to secure a date.



Supervised Visitation


This service is available for parents who have court ordered or private visitation privileges with their child(ren). The visiting parent must schedule a week in advance and complete all necessary paperwork. A copy of the court order for visitation must be given at the time of the intake for visitation services. The type of visitation (therapeutic or supervised) must be specified as different rates apply.



Trainings

We provide learning experiences that is tailored to meet the specific needs of a variety of populations that are professional, (para-professional) and those with limited education. Some themes include: diversity training, classroom management, communication, community collaboration, taking good care of you, effective family conference/meeting and working with parents and children with difficult behaviors.
